Coats by BB Dakota

Cold weather is upon most of us by now, and these sweet coats by BB Dakota will help fend off those frightfully cold days and nights as we move into winter. I love a colorful coat, so I'm loving the bright red one. Which is your favorite?

How to Warm Up

This photo is so ethereal, and I just love the sparkle in these wrist warmers from Toast. Which are actually very practical for me since my arms are longer than average, and often times my long sleeves aren't as long as they are supposed to be!

Have a happy (not-snowy-like-this-photo) weekend!!

White Accessories

I love using white accessories when I create an outfit. I especially love these: a cocktail ring, belt, headband, and bag. What color do you like to accessorize with?

Kate Spade's self-described utility, wit, + playful sophistication make me so happy -- seriously, how can you not smile when looking through the fall looks?

Toast: AW2010 House + Home

The latest collection of House + Home products from UK company Toast is now available online. As I am in the middle of doing a bit of decorating in my bedroom, I thought I would share some of my favorite photos from their online catalog of these gorgeous, luxurious bedrooms with you. (I have never really thought about it, but the idea of coordinating my bathrobe with my bedding like they did in this collection is at the same time a bit over the top while still being really fun! Don't you think?)

Marais USA

I am absolutely in love with these Mulberry Maryjane shoes from Marais USA (at a great price!). And the photos they've taken with their shoes...so lovely! They are flats (which is great by me!)...but what do you think about pairing them with trouser socks like they did in the bottom photo?

Temple St. Clair for Target

Target truly is making great design within reach by working with designers on pieces that are definitely affordable. These pieces above from Temple St. Clair arrived online and in stores this past Sunday. Her collection is aptly named "Modern Heirlooms" because of the statement these pieces make. Read the whole story about this collection here.

Kate Spade: Handbag

Isn't this bag from Kate Spade absolutely charming + totally perfect? I love the delicate, feminine details of the tiny gold chain strap + the beautiful grosgrain ribbon.

Hope you have a lovely Monday!

Happy Monday + End of Summer Sales

Happy, happy Monday! A new week = a fresh start. That's the best way to go into a new week, isn't it? Thinking of what you can accomplish + going after it!

It was a good weekend for me. I went to my first hot yoga session ever, and, well, it was HOT. I couldn't believe how much I could sweat, but I felt so great afterward. And then felt so sore the next day. In only the best way possible, though. I also went to a baby shower of a dear friend (who ended up having her baby later that night! how crazy + exciting!) and then got together with family for a pizza + movie night.

I also did a little cleaning in my closet + got rid of so many things that I hadn't worn in a while or that had just gotten a little too much use through the years. Which made me think about what new staples I should think about getting. Which meant some online window shopping!

The best part of this collection above is that these are all part of the sale section of their respective stores. If only my bank account were a little larger to allow for ALL of these beautiful things to be on their way to me right now!

Have a great Monday!

What to Wear

Happy Monday! Hope your weekend was good. I spent a little time over the weekend trying to find a dress online for an upcoming wedding I'm attending. It's an afternoon wedding, so I want something light + summery but still a little dressy. What do you think of these options?

The best part is that they are all $50 + under. I really like all of them, now if I had a virtual fitting room maybe I could tell which one I should choose! What do you think?

Have a great week ahead!

Flirty Style

Since I got back from Chicago, I am in the mood for some urban chic. And so I am loving these looks from Urban Outfitters!

I love the cuffed shorts + the pop of red from her socks (paired with such darling shoes) in the first photo. And in the second photo, I am always up for a pretty, flirty little skirt topped with a ruffly shirt. Next, don't you just love the leggings underneath that gorgeous shirt + the high heels in the third photo! Fabulous! And the dress in that last photo...love the deep blue + the exposed back!

Feeling Girly

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was good. Mine was a girls' weekend--my mom and I drove down to South Carolina for a bridal shower we threw at my sister's house. We drove all the way back to Cincinnati yesterday and brought my sister along with us. Speaking of girly things, I
am definitely a girly girl + I love pinks, florals, lace, painted nails, dresses, all of it!

And what about you--are you the girly type or no?

Swimsuit Season is Here...

Here in the US, the unofficial beginning of summer was celebrated yesterday on Memorial Day. Which means...pools open and we pull out the swimsuits. Or try to find new ones! I was looking through J.Crew's June 2010 catalog, and found some lovelies:

I absolutely adore the seersucker in No. 1 and No. 2, and the little floral embellishment on the bikini bottom is the icing on the cake. Orange is such a fun color to wear by the pool too! I wanted to show you No. 3 because I have this thing for polka dots, and we all are loving turquoise this year. I threw in the hat because I've been eyeing cool hats while I'm out and about, but the only hats I ever wear are baseball caps and cold weather knitted ones. Normally I will try anything different stylewise, but for some reason I just don't think I can pull off a straw hat. Can you or will you?

Here again is another hat, this time a Panama hat with a more masculine feel. What do you think? This straw tote is perfect for carrying a book, your towel, sunglasses, and sunblock with you, and it coordinates perfectly with a purple halter bathing suit. Pulling it all together are these delicate bejeweled flip-flops. Love it!

This summer, my husband and I are not going south for vacation so there is not so much need to buy a new bathing suit (especially considering the number I already have! haha!). Actually, instead we are heading up north to Toronto! We've never been, do you have any suggestions on what to do, where to stay? Have a great Tuesday!

Tuesday Trend : Rompers!

Hi and happy Tuesday! I was in Target the other night with my husband and as we were perusing through the women's clothing section, a sweet little romper caught my eye. We bought it because Patrick really liked it. [Okay fine, honey, we'll buy some clothes for me...:)] But...I don't have a photo of it [sorry! there were no photos of it online and I haven't put any makeup on yet and thus didn't want to take a photo of myself in it!:)]

I'm not sure where I first started liking the look of rompers, but just yesterday Anne from The City Sage posted about a new romper (she called it a onesie) that she had received and took some photos of herself wearing it (so cute!).

Angie from You Look Fab also posted about jumpsuits/rompers (lots of terms for them!) yesterday. She said, "While I don’t loathe the look — it has a certain glamorous disco 70’s James Bond and Charlie’s Angels charm about it — I still vote nay for practical reasons. I cannot get my head around the the laborious effort of taking it off every time nature calls, not to mention the chilly draft."

I think they are absolutely so fun. I definitely have a rectangular body shape (based on what what it says here and here), which is one of the "easiest to dress of all body types," according to Angie. Very exciting stuff...a lot of times I don't try things on before leaving the store...which sometimes of course ends up very badly! Luckily, with this romper purchase (I didn't try it on in the store), it turned out a winner. I tried it on once I got home and I really like it.

So, in the end, I would say that I am a fan of this look. What about you? What do you think? Would you wear one or no?
