{Raffle} Winner!

Hey hey and happy Monday! Another new week!

(photo via Facebook)

Yesterday, Mary finished her first marathon right in Cincinnati at the Flying Pig. 26.2 miles...in a thunderstorm no less! Wow! What a feat.

Since Mary has finished her marathon, that also means that it's time to announce the winner of the raffle! And that winner is...Susan Kleiman!! Thanks to everyone who participated and helped Mary go above and beyond her goal in her fundraising efforts for Girls on the Run! Great job!

If this isn't inspiration to get through this week, I don't know what is:) I haven't run a race in about a year and a half, so I was looking into races last night. I found a half marathon (not quite ready for the full...YET) in Greenville, SC (tried to find places where I know I would have someone to stay with and my sister lives there!). Do you have recommendations for your favorite race? What is your best race story?

Make it a great week!

{Ideas} Getting crafty with envelopes!

How does she do it? Martha Stewart's endless imagination! I found this cute idea to add a little personality to something as simple as an envelope.

"These handmade envelopes, fashioned from magazine pages and wrapping paper, are great for holiday letters or flat gifts, such as CDs. Unfold a regular envelope. Choose patterned paper larger than the envelope (or stick mismatched pieces together with glue). Trace the envelope onto the paper, fold (use envelope as a guide), and secure with glue stick. If mailing, add a label." {Martha Stewart, credit here}

G U E S S W H A T ? Remember the post revealing a raffle for GOTR and the sweet Mary Gaertner here? Well, she reached her goal!! So excited for her!! There is still time to donate just $5 (to a great cause nonetheless!) and enter yourself to win the awesome personalized Bella raffle!!

Have a great Monday!!

{Raffle} Bella Card Company + Girls on the Run

Hello again! I couldn't wait to share this exciting news about a raffle from Bella Card Company. My friend Mary Gaertner approached me about partnering with her to help reach her goal of raising money for scholarships for a program she is involved with called Girls on the Run, and more specifically, the charity running leg of the program called Solemates.

Mary works for the local Cincinnati chapter of GOTR and decided to take this step to run her very first full marathon (the Flying Pig, Cincinnati) and raise money for Solemates to provide scholarships so more girls could participate in this awesome program.

When asked what attracted Mary to GOTR, she said, “I wish that I had found out how fun exercise can be when I was younger. I think I would have had a much easier time accepting my body as I grew up if I knew all of the awesome things it can do. Since I caught the running bug my freshman year of college, it has totally changed my self-awareness. I like the fact that these girls are getting to learn how to use their bodies for their health at the age when they are so easily influenced.”

Now that you have seen what a cool organization this is, help support Mary in her endeavors and win the following raffle personalized prize pack from yours truly, Bella Card Company! The prize includes one 8.5"x11" print (Sunburst design with your initial), and two sets of notecards (one set of ten of the Sunburst with Initial Monogram Cards and one set of twelve of the Personalized Modern Notecards)!!

The details to enter: Go to Mary's donation page (isn't she cute?!) and for every $5 donation you enter, you will be entered one time into the raffle to win this lovely prize package (valued at $46!). There is no limit on the amount of entries/$5 donations you make. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes from active.com via e-mail once your donation has been submitted. Mary will keep track of the number of your donations and the winner will be announced the day after her race via e-mail, May 3rd!

Support a great cause and be sure to be the winner by donating early and often!

{Time's up!} We have a winner!

Special congrats to Michael! He (and Heather!) won the giveaway for calling cards (via a random drawing on random.org).

"These are fantastic! Very aptly named--bold and simple indeed. : ) My wife and I are touring the country this summer to raise awareness and support for the nonprofit we work for (thesoldproject.org); cards like these would come in handy. Plus, we're kind of stationary junkies. Keep up the good work!"
-Michael

Again, congrats! Please get in touch, Michael, and I will get these calling cards in the mail soon! (My e-mail address is posted to the right.)

Happy weekend everyone!

xo, Alicia
