High Street Market: Cincinnati

High Street, located just north of downtown Cincinnati, is an award-winning design studio + an urban lifestyle store. They encourage people "to hunt for fierce objects they can relate to...+ expect intelligent design to follow." While a lot of their pieces are definitely modern, I love how their design portfolio covers traditional spaces as well (quite seamlessly too!). So if you're in Cincinnati in the near future, definitely put High Street on your must-see list + stop by! But lucky for you if you're not visiting my city soon, their online shop is now open!

Midweek Dinner Party

Last night my mom hosted a dinner party with some of my friends from high school + their families. It is always good to catch up with those you haven't seen in a while, isn't it?? They are all such fun + great people, and I thought I would share with you some of the details from the party. Unfortunately because of the time of day I took these, only a few of the photos turned out looking okay.

We made the tablecloth, runner, and fabric napkins with just some old fabric we found at Hobby Lobby. The drink coasters were made using cocktail napkins + an iron-on design I had made to coordinate with the invitation (based on the idea here). I created the "take-home" favor bags, also to coordinate with the invitation design (based on the idea here), and put some candy + cookies inside (found at Trader Joe's). We also got all the flowers from Trader Joe's for SO cheap (that place is so awesome...every town should have one!). I found this great recipe for a Chocolate Almond Pastry recipe (originally from Martha Stewart, modified by Fish Food) to finish off the meal on a sweet note. Thankfully (for my mom as the hostess), it was a huge success!

Have a great Wednesday!

Kortnee Kate Photography

Kortnee Kate is a husband/wife photography team that is just out-of-this-world talented. They are local here in Cincinnati, but also do destination weddings. A friend of mine is friends with them, which is how I first discovered them. They shot her wedding a few years ago + recently did her sister's wedding (which was in St. John...don't be too jealous). Kortnee and her husband, Ted, seem like such a fun-loving couple, which I'm sure makes those being photographed totally at ease.

[P.S. It makes me so happy to see bits + pieces of Cincinnati in their photography!]

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Happy Friday! The photo above from Lonny magazine makes me want to dress up the table and set up for a gorgeous weekend brunch! (Will I actually do it? Haha probably no...will you??) My plans are to go to the International Butterfly Show (something inside because it's supposed to rain all weekend...boo!)! What are your plans for the weekend?

U-Pick Strawberry Season

Good morning! Yesterday I picked strawberries for the first time in my life! It was hard work...but look at how pretty they are! It was so worth it! I have had suggestions to wash, dry, and freeze small batches of strawberries and also to make freezer jam. What do you do with your fresh strawberries?
